Griffiths Gnat is a proven midge fly engineered for on-top fishing and precise presentation. Fish on-top with a dead-drift, and if theres no hit, pull it under and skip with a quick rod tip to provoke a response.

This pattern is a midge fishing standard, delivering a compact, convincing silhouette that performs across common light and water conditions. The technique is simple: maintain a clean surface drift, then submerge the fly with a controlled rod-tip skip when a strike doesnt appear, yielding a decisive trigger.

  • On-top dead-drift presentation for a natural look
  • If no hit, pull under and skip with rod tip to provoke a strike
  • Standard midge pattern with proven effectiveness
  • Compact silhouette designed for precise, efficient casts
  • Reliable choice for consistent midge fishing results

Griffiths Gnat delivers surface-level attraction with a clear sub-surface option when visibility or activity shifts.
