I seemed to always be messing w/ the idle/fuel mixture. once I got it set for the day, it worked well. BUT with this ION 10″ auger all I do is snap in the battery (I keep the battery warm when not in use) and pick my spot and push a button and w/in seconds (short seconds that is) there is a nice hole and I can move on to the next spot I want to make a hole. Just move and repeat. No issues at all. [just a warning, there is a small delay from when you push the button to when the auger begins working, at first I thought it was a problem but then figured out that is just the way it is]. I really love how quiet it is. It is really nice to NOT disturb a nice quiet morning on the ice.
