Product Details RIO Dacron Fly Line Backing gives fly anglers dependable reel backing for trout, salmon, steelhead, and light saltwater setups, with a traditional braided Dacron construction that balances strength, handling, and practical rigging at the bench. This backing offers high strength with low stretch and a braid that remains easier to knot than very thin, tightly woven alternatives, which helps when building connections and forming blind splice loops. It also strikes a useful middle ground between thin diameter and loop-making ability, so anglers can rig reels efficiently and fish with confidence when a strong fish runs deep into backing on a 100 yd. spool available in 20 lb. and 30 lb. tests in high-visibility Orange or Chartreuse.
