Product Details The Simms Wading Staff Rubber Tip gives anglers added confidence when crossing slick rocks, uneven bottoms, and narrow creeks on the way to trout, steelhead, or smallmouth water. This rubber replacement tip grips between rocks and crevasses to reduce slipping while staying quieter in the water than a standard aluminum tipan advantage when moving through shallow runs or tailouts. Built for hike-to-fish access points and technical wading, it threads directly onto the Simms Wading Staff or Simms Pro Wading Staff for a fast, secure swap that keeps you moving safely and efficiently. Measuring 1 x 3/4 in., its a simple upgrade that improves traction without adding bulk or noise. They are correct, but it isn’t impossible. I first tried with pliers and a jar lid rubber grip thing…didn’t budge. I then got a plastic bag, sprayed WD-40 in till one corner was full, put the wader staff in, the tip of course, then taped it up and let the staff sit overnight. Tip came right off. 2) complaints that the staff no longer fits in the provided Simms scabbard. Mine fit perfectly fine, but my staff is the new wading staff. This thing is now quiet on the stream bed. My only complaint is, with the price Simms charges for their wading staffs, they should provide both tips.
