The Saikou Shock Leader Compact is a tapered leader designed for tying surfcasting rigs, with a gradual diameter change that spreads out the shock of a hard cast and cushions those aggressive strikes. The clear finish keeps it nearly invisible underwater, which really shows on clear-water days or when the fish are being fussy. <

Each spool comes in a compact format, 5 units of 15 metres per pack, so you can carry the exact diameter you need without lugging around spare spools

The material knots up cleanly and keeps decent flexibility even on the thicker diameters, which you’ll appreciate when tying rigs with cold hands or low light. With strength ranging from 3.5 Kg up to 39 Kg depending on the diameter picked, this tapered leader covers everything from light rigs to setups built for bigger fish.
